COVID-19 Vaccine & Information

March 10, 2023: COVID-19 Vaccine Policy Update:

Pursuant to the US Department of Health and Human Services planning to end the federal Public Health Emergency for COVID-19 this spring, AIC will end the on-campus COVID-19 vaccine requirement effective May 12, 2023. At that time, AIC will continue to require all students to comply with the current immunization requirements set forth by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health for college entry. While these requirements do not currently include the COVID-19 vaccine, AIC strongly encourages all members of the AIC community to stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines and boosters.

Are masks required on campus?

Masks are not required on AIC’s campus with the following exceptions:

  • Per Massachusetts Department of Public Health guidelines, masks continue to be required in the Dexter Health Services, Counseling Center, and Athletic Training facilities.
  • All individuals (regardless of vaccination status) should wear a mask if they are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19.
  • All individuals who were deemed a close contact of someone with COVID-19, must wear a mask for 10 days after their last exposure.
  • Effective July 1, 2022, the Massachusetts Department of Public Health advises that individuals should wear a mask or face covering when indoors (and not in your own home) if you have a weakened immune system, or if you are at increased risk for severe disease because of your age or an underlying medical condition, or if someone in your household has a weakened immune system, is at increased risk for severe disease.
